If the cloud server or your network is behind a proxy, you need to do the following steps:

  1. Locate the vmoptions file
  2. Add to the file the following properties(for secured proxy):

-Dhttps.proxyHost=<proxy machine ip>

-Dhttps.proxyPort=<proxy port>

-Dhttps.proxyUser=<proxy username>

-Dhttps.proxyPassword=<proxy password>

Please make sure that after adding the proxy information, add an empty line after the last property.

3. Restart the remoteDebuggingDaemon server

Please note that if your proxy connection is not secured then the properties should state http instead of https:

-Dhttp.proxyHost=<proxy machine ip>

-Dhttp.proxyPort=<proxy port>

-Dhttp.proxyUser=<proxy username>

-Dhttp.proxyPassword=<proxy password>

Please make sure that after adding the proxy information, add an empty line after the last property.

Regarding empty values

Please note that if some of the values are not needed, they should be included in the vmoptions file with an empty value. For example, if no authentication credentials are needed, the following should be added:

-Dhttp.proxyHost=<proxy machine ip>

-Dhttp.proxyPort=<proxy port>

-Dhttp.proxyUser=

-Dhttp.proxyPassword=

vmoptions file location

  • MacOS - Under installation directory, locate the file remoteDebuggingDaemon.vmoptions

  • Windows - Under extracted direcotry, locate the file rdb.vmoptions
