The Highlights:

 Mobile Studio - Screenshot and Video Capture

As a part of the new reporting capabilities in the Mobile Studio, you can now take screenshots and capture videos!


 Browsers Page - Redesign

 Support Instrumentation of Android App Bundles

Digital.ai Continuous Testing announced the support for .AAB applications with dump instrumentation in 21.5.
In 21.7, we support it with advanced instrumentation features like camera and fingerprint support, also the ability to download .AAB from cloud interface.

 iOS 15 Beta Support

Be the first to test your mobile apps on the latest version of iOS -  Available both for On-Prem and SaaS customers now.

Notes and Known Issues

  • Due to JetBrains security requirements, our IntelliJ Plugin now only supports versions 2020.1.4 and above


 Additional New Features


 Mobile Studio - Log TabRecord, search through and save device log during a manual session

 Reporting - Report link generated by an automation test will lead directly to the video report for both Selenium and Appium tests

 Selenium Automation - Transactions will be generated upon calling EndPerformanceTransaciton and not at the end of the session

 Appium - Support installing cloud applications when using driver.installApp   

 XCUITest - Support Cucumber Tags for Cucumberish tests

On Premise Deployment

Important Notes and Known Issues

  • Please review the updated System Requirements
    • Added: New Installer restrictions 
    • Linux - Remove the requirements for Java Oracle JRE
  • From 21.11 (Nov 2021), we will no longer support the deployment of Device Host Machine on Windows OS
  • We recommend that you start planning your purchase plan and replace all Windows DHM's with MacOS DHM's before upgrading to 21.11
  • If you want to support Appium Server open source in your cloud, please contact support@digital.ai
  • From 21.6 we will no longer support
    • Windows Server 2012 (For all cloud components), our supported versions:  Windows Server 2016/2019
    • macOS Mojave for DHM and EHM, our supported versions: macOS Catalina/BigSur
  • Xcode SDK 12.5 supports a maximum iOS version of 14.7
  • From 21.7 version all cloud components will use Java JRE OpenJDK instead of Oracle JRE, the JRE will be installed automatically as part of installation/upgrade process.

 Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Reporter - Opening a report without being authenticated first results in 401 message and not Login page - Fixed
  • Reporter - Steps and Video not synchronized in Selenium tests - Fixed
  • STMW - Android 10, 11 - Incorrect clicks processed as 'longclicks' very often - Fixed
  • Audit Log - Add login events 
  • Users Page - Add 'Admin' column and filter for quick filtering admin users
  • Provision Profiles page - Move to the new design 

 Next Release and Important Announcements

  • Due date*:  31.08.2021 (or prior)
  • As a part of version 21.8, the old Reporter UI will be deprecated and will no longer be available when using  use.new.testViews=false
